There are few things as beautiful and peaceful as a cityscape. Therefore, it's our obligation to make mayhem out of these images. So, I hope you have fun and let your imagination run wild.

Before doing this tutorial, you should be on the lookout for good fire and smoke brushes.

First, we need to find a good cityscape image which will allow us to do some crazy editing.

First, we need to fill the image out a bit more, so we're going to add a boat to the foreground. Go out and find one you think fits well. I'm going to use this rusted, and crusty bucket..

Now we're going to clean up the image, so use your polygon selection tool and take out the big chunks of white background. Then use a smaller eraser to refine even further.

Now, we need the boat to look like it belongs in the water, and not on top of it. Grab your clone stamp tool and select right below the bottom of the boat where the water is. Then select a nice wave looking brush. And paint the edge along side the bottom.

Now we get to the fun stuff. We're going to set the boat on fire. First, let's do the front of the boat. Grab a good rustic brush and pick a dirty brown color. Paint the front of the boat, to make it looks like there's a hole. Then grab a smoke brush and paint in shades of grey. Now, let's do a fire on the back of the boat. Picking shades of orange and yellow, use a good fire brush and set it ablaze.

Now, let's move to destroying some buildings. First thing, find a good image of skyscraper construction. Take out a chunk of it, and place it on the left hand side of the tall building on the left side of the image. Use your clone stamp tool to blend it in. Then go crazy with your smoke brush again.

Go ahead and apply some of the techniques we've used to add greater effects to the image.

Continuing, we're going to add a sign to the side of one of the buildings. Find an image that has a good sheet on it.

Cut out a piece of the sheet and transfer it to our city scape image. Scale it down to the on the building you want to put it on. Here you can make good use of the distort image adjustment. Then add some text and distort it to fit wherever you put the sheet.

For a bonus, you can add a zombie face to the water. Find a good picture of a zombie, crop the face out. Then place it on the water, use the distort tool yet again. Then set the face layer to luminosity, and tweak the opacity so it blends with your water.
